No Third Term Bidandi

by VISION REPORTER
Local Government Minister Bidandi Ssali has opposed calls for President Yoweri Museveni to be given a third term.
This is diluting the constitution, Bidandi, said on Super FM on Saturday morning. If we allow this then next time someone doesnt like anything in the constitution say, decentralisation or traditional leaders, he will simply cause a change. The constitution, which was so painstakingly drafted, will become a mere kisassalala (shell).
The minister said that the 1994-95 Constituent Assembly agreed on the need to limit the presidential terms to two.
The movementists, multipartyists and all other forces were unanimous that no individual, however good, should be allowed to be president for more than two terms. recalled Bidandi.
