ugnet_: Is Kibaki a better bet than Uhuru Kenyatta?

What is there to get excited about Kibaki?

When he was still Moi's Vice President, Kibaki was a very
strong advocate of a one party state.

In his camp are the likes of Prof. Saitoti, a man who
ought to be explaining how the Kenyan Treasury was
looted to the bones, rather than standing for election.

At the height of the looting Kibaki was VP and Saitoti was
in the treasury.

It also must be understood that Moi and (Biwot) have
made sure that nearly all the officer corps of the Armed
Forces are their men.

How is Kibaki to go after the thieves and criminals when
they are strongly represented in his corner, and they also
have a stranglehold over the instruments of State Security?

Everything has been privatised (given away ). What else
is there for Kibaki to privatise - to placate imperialism?

Some here have predicted a refocus, by imperialism
(called investors in the politically correct lingua), from
Uganda to Kenya.

How can any serious Ugandan say that now that imperialism
has aquired Uganda as its gateway to Congo Rwanda and
Sudan it is to give it up for Kenya? Can't imperialism have both?

Your socalled investors are just the soldiers that have just retired
out of the British SAS or the apartheid SADF. Their profiles
have appeared in our dalies countless times.

Instead of dreaming about AID all the time; and the socalled
external investors we should be brainstorming as to how to
put the motor engine of our development into gear.

Ugandans are capable to develop their country.
Nobody has that obligation except us.

It is hightime we started believing in ourselves
