Musakhulu Potosi your disenchantment of kenya's choice
for their third president is very much understood. Why
on earth you would compare Uhuru Kenyatta with Kibaki
is where the problem lies. Most Kenyans never voted for
Kibaki for the sake of change but rather to spite Moi
whom they rightly or not blame for their
maladies.Uhuru was infact penny wise but pound foolish
not to see through this and went ahead to plunge his
person in Moi's dirty tricks. His so called running
mate the very short lived Vice President in the Kenyan
history so far Musalia Mudavadi got punished by the
electorate because of siding with Mutukuffu Moi when
no one wanted even to touch him with a 27 foot
stick. The whole issue here for all African politicians
to learn from is to stop thinking they are
indispensible. The holy writ in the book of
Ecclessiates clearly states :"For everything under the
sun, there is a time." Most of our Politicians just do
not get this that is why they usually wait to be
hounded out of office as if they were common criminals
which indeed they invariably turn themselves into by
manipulating a people for so long.On the issue of most
of the corrupt being with Kibaki that is what it is
like in most countries in the World even the mighty US
included.Leaders have to come from the society and it
is what the society has that it offers.Do not expect
saints in the next Kenyan government but for all it
takes for now let's give Kibaki the benefit of doubt
about his ability to bring real change in the corrupt
pysche of many Kenyans, besides, much as it is good to
pontificate on values in our neighbour's backyards we
should also look into our own mirrors and see how the
log in our eyes can be removed other than falling prey
to the BMW(Bitching,Moaning and Whining)Syndrome that
spectators like you and me always find themselves in.
Nakusiimire naabi.
Kipenji.
