THE wife to the former President, Godfrey
Lukongwa Binaisa, has died in London, UK.
The 65-year-old Irene
Marjorie Kabamori, suffered a stroke in 1992 and later developed breast
cancer, her daughter Nakalema Binaisa, said.
�She has been in-and-out
of hospital for the last 10 years,� Nakalema said.
Kabamori was linked
to Toro kingdom�s ruling Babito clan.
She hails from a noble clan, the
Bagahi.
A shocked and crest fallen Godfrey Binaisa said, �She�s been
ill for a long time and died in her sleep on Sunday afternoon from
complications related to a stroke. She was a kind, well behaved wife.�
Kabamori died at her daughter�s home at Brightling in London.
She
is survived by four girls and three boys.
Kabamori returned to Uganda
in 2000 to celebrate the millennium.
