Govt: Rwandan Fugitive Has Fled
The East African Standard (Nairobi)

Rwandese fugitive Felicien Kabuga has fled the country after attempts to arrest him failed, the government has admitted.

Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation Minister Kalonzo Musyoka said today "we have every reason to believe that he is no longer in the country. We are unable to catch him."

Kalonzo was speaking when he hosted a team of top US officials who are in the country for bilateral talks. He said the FBI and Kenyan police were still collaborating on gathering information on Kabuga.

He said the US government would still work closely with Kenya, the UN and the International Police "to apprehend him for genocide."
