I too have a problem with a 49 year lease. Why not a 5 year lease? Given Uganda's life expectancy, a child born today will die before that lease expires! What are the terms of the lease?

Even if it is a lease, I have a problem with it. The Butikiro is a key part of Buganda's heritage. It is not clear that the Lukiiko had any input in this.
Under federalism the states should have their constitutions laying out the right procedures for any major decisions. Not even the Kabaka should dictate on matters that concern the people's heritage without the right channels (i.e Lukiiko ) being involved. Moreover, the Butikiro was built by the resources of the people of Buganda.
