KASESE resident district commissioner Musa Ecweru, currently mobilising Teso residents against LRA rebels, has denied that he ordered for any Acholi found in Teso to be killed, as some residents had alleged, reports Milton Olupot.
"Those are the diversionary tactics of the LRA apologists who would not want to see the war ending. It is ridiculous. We have Acholi doctors in Katakwi treating the injured and rescued abductees, how would I call on people to kill even the innocent Acholi?" Ecweru told journalists at the Parliamentary building in Kampala, recently.
"If the LRA rebel happens to be an Acholi, Etesot or a Munyankole, he has to be killed," he said.
He said he had directed that any LRA rebel above 18 years found loitering in Teso should be killed, "because the rebels do not deserve any justice."
He said he had received reports that three top LRA commanders, who led the LRA to Teso, had shared the abducted girls from Lwala Girls School and were raping them.
Ecweru hailed Teso residents, who, he said, had greatly decampaigned the rebels.
He said two, out of the three rebel groups who had raided Teso, have been wiped out.
