The World Food Programme (WFP) has said delays in the distribution of food to Teso were caused by difficulties in assessing the number of displaced people.
"Our food distribution programmes have been delayed by lack of accurate figures on the number of displaced and the difficulty of tracking where they have settled," WFP national programme officer Ernest Mutanga told IRIN, a UN news agency.
Since the Lord's Resistance Army attacked Teso on June 15, 240,000 people are estimated to have been displaced, including 150,000 in Katakwi.
