MBARARA - A University don here has accused President Yoweri Museveni of alleged double standards.

Museveni degazetted part of Lake Mburo National Park and resettled there Bahima that came from Luwero after the war, but sent away Bakiga who had settled in Mpokya game reserve, Father Adrian Mwesigye said at a one-day seminar at Mbarara Catholic Social Centre on Thursday.

It was organised by the Foundation for African Development (FAD).Mwesigye is a lecturer and chaplain at Mbarara University of Science and Technology.

As we speak now the Bakiga, displaced from Kibaale district, have spent more than four months at Lugogo Cricket Ground in Kampala, he said.

Mwesigye said that when Musevenis government came to power, it enacted a law against sectarianism but that the president is the same person practicing it.

The Bahima who invaded Teso wetlands are still thereAre Bakiga not Ugandans? the Catholic father asked, provoking applause from the participants, mainly from Mbarara and Bushenyi districts.
