MEMBERS of Parliament have proposed a neutral peace team amongst themselves to mediate talks between the Government and the Lord's Resistance Army.
The team, comprising members of the defence, internal affairs and foreign affairs committees has written to the Sudanese government to arrange and help facilitate them to meet the LRA peace-team.
They have also written to the Government peace team, inviting them for a meeting on Monday, before meeting defence and internal affairs ministers on Tuesday.
Drawing the tentative programme at parliament on Monday, committee chairman Simon Mayende said it was also imperative to meet religious leaders in the affected districts.
Pius Mujuzi (Kyotera) said the presidential peace team was not ardent with the talks, because it sat back when Kony refused to talk.
