“The team, comprising members of the defence, internal affairs and foreign affairs committees has written to the Sudanese government to arrange and help facilitate them to meet the LRA peace-team.”

I think it will be kind of tough to find a neutral team from government branches named above:

Defense: members of this group have been engaging LRA time immemorial and some have given multiple deadlines to annihilate Kony

To think that anyone from the internal security, which branch has failed to safe guard the lives of Ugandans maimed and killed due to the LRA bizarre war, is a fallacy.

The foreign affair branch of the government has managed to convince the international community that LRA is a terrorist organization and have been condemned even by the Pontiff and the USA administration has come to Uganda’s call for assistance and in terms of arms and logistics to annihilate the LRA.

Sudan has provided sanctuary and logistics to LRA and it would be stupid the Ugandan government to think that the Khartoum administration would be neutral in these talks.

MEMBERS of Parliament have proposed a neutral peace team amongst themselves to mediate talks between the Government and the Lord's Resistance Army.

The team, comprising members of the defence, internal affairs and foreign affairs committees has written to the Sudanese government to arrange and help facilitate them to meet the LRA peace-team.

They have also written to the Government peace team, inviting them for a meeting on Monday, before meeting defence and internal affairs ministers on Tuesday.

Drawing the tentative programme at parliament on Monday, committee chairman Simon Mayende said it was also imperative to meet religious leaders in the affected districts.

Pius Mujuzi (Kyotera) said the presidential peace team was not ardent with the talks, because it sat back when Kony refused to talk.
