MISNA that the message âunderlines first and foremost that peace is an undertaking involving everybody, no-one excludedâ. âWhen we say âeverybodyâ, we also mean the international community which, unfortunately, uses a two-tier system, distinguishing between regions in which there are strong economic interests and regions where there are none, when intervening on behalf of a country or a territory,â he explained. âIt is a disgrace that Britain, the former colonial power in Uganda, should wash its hands of the conflict in the north, claiming that it is an internal matter, while instead it intervenes in Iraq, and interferes in the politics of Zimbabwe, or sends its men to Sierra Leone, as it has done in the past.â The Spanish priest also intends to ask the Ugandan government to take seriously the negotiations with the rebels of LRA (lordâs Resistance Army), who have tormented the civilian population in northern Uganda for 17 years.
I may be wrong, but I strongly believe that the BRITAIN under PM Blair, have calculated and strongly believe that it is NOT in BRITISH interest to intervene and stop the Museveni Created Nightmare in Northern and Eastern Uganda.
As British Intervention In Zimbabwe, Iraq, Sierra Leone, this intervention are in the INTEREST of Britain.... and so Northern Uganda civilians caught up in the nightmare will have to perished as far as Britain is concerned... and perish they have!
