Museveni, Kategaya better of without each other

This is my view. It may not be popular, but as nationalist, I strongly believe in it.

Whereas it is true that President Yoweri Musevini and former Premier Mr Eriya Kategaya are long time comrades who shared a lot of ideals about Uganda, it is now clear that their friendship was not genuine. And this is how:

As long as Kategaya agreed with Museveni, they remained friends. But immediately he insisted on his view that his colleague Museveni should not associate himself with manipulative politics and advised him not to attempt to cling to power, the long time strong bond collapsed. He was sacked in a radio announcement without prior notice.

At the moment, Kategayaâs good intentions may not at all make sense to his friend and it is good he has known it early enough.

The way I see it, Kategaya is better off without Museveni, because it is only then that his independence will be preserved.

And if indeed Museveni wants to stay in power, the new Kategaya is of no use to him because the only sure way to keep a strong grip on power is to keep in the company of people who are focused on state power and nothing else.

It is time up. Let every man follow his conscience and heartâs desire.

Rukungiri.
