SBA's E-Confluence Monitors Africa, M-East Markets

SBA Research Limited has launched its e-confluence data platform that
provides information liquidity on 23 emerging markets of Africa and
the middle East.

Executive Director of SBA, Mr. Segun Akande, said the e-confluence
data platform covers 3,344 equities and over 800 bonds in 23
countries, and was designed to fill the gap in analytical data
available in Africa and middle Eastern countries.


He said the platform provides a wide range of stock market information resources to investors, fund managers, stockbrokers and pension fund managers.

decision on a particular stock, and enable up to five portfolio set-
ups that are downloadable to excel", he said "it, also offers a
liquidity measurement tool that enables the user to identify price
liquidity of listed stock, as well as provide a comparison tool that
enables the global comparison of up to four companies in terms of
balance sheet, cash flow, profit/loss and ratios, irrespective of
what country the company is in", he added.

According to Mr. Akande, the platform which represents the most
modern advance in financial market data in Africa and the middle
East, has been adjudged as "impressive" as well as having "the best
coverage of African equities", by Morgan Stanley, cannalord capital
and Goldman Sachs.

Highlighting on the benefits of the e-confluence, Mr. Akande, said it
enhances brokers, electronic research capabilities in a cost
effective manner.

There is improvement in market liquidity given faster buy or sell
decision increased availability of data on the smaller capitalised
stocks which open them up for investment.

The platform provides an opening for brokers and investors to
understand markets in other countries, thereby put together cross-
country funds unit trusts that are highly sought by the emerging
market investors who seek to spread his risk.

The e-confluence data terminal which is gaining wide acceptance in
the emerging markets, has an inbuilt and secure communication server
that enables investors communicate real-time with users in all the
areas of coverage without delay.

SBA Research said extensive local support has been provided for the e-
confluence data terminal through in-house training, local system
analysts, and client relationships personnel.

It has, also, set up dedicated telephone lines, personnel and on-line
