I hope Matek and other UPC/LRA sycophants on this forum (particularly 
northerners), are taking not of the posting below. Apparently Mr. Kony does 
not consider you "pure" northerners and therefore to Kony, you are targets 
for extamination. Mr. Ssemakula, really and sincerely, how can one even with 
the best of intentions begin to negotiate with a person of such a mind set. 
I mean, here is a man (Kony) who is leaving in his little make believe 
world, based on the 10 commandments and a "pure" Acholi tribe and he is 
apprently not ready to see things any different, to the extent that he is 
ready to kill even the very people he purpots to be fighting for, in order 
to obtain compliance. This same man (Kony) has little or no education, this 
brings into question the basis for negotiating with him in the first place. 
People like Matek and others of his ilk, who have been seesawing between; 
Kony=UPDF and Kony should be negotiated with, have not put forward any 
viable solutions (apart from military force). Kony is a man who will 
continue killing whether there is combat or not. The people of Uganda 
(particularly in the north) and UPDF, must hunt Kony to the bitter end or 
else Kony will hunt them to extinction (as stated below). Less people will 
be lost fighting Kony than just sitting around and waiting for europeans to 
come and mediate (meanwhile Kony will be killing). No government worth it's 
salt will sit down and do nothing while a mad man like Kony goes on a 
murderous rampage killing innocent citizens. THESE EUROPEANS CALLING FOR 
NEGOTIATIONS WITH KONY WERE THE SAME PEOPLE WHO ATTACKED IRAQ (PREMPTIVELY) 
ON THE BASIS THAT IRAQ WAS AN IMMEDIATE DANGER TO THEM, WITHOUT IRAQ FIRING 
ONE SHOT AT THEM. YET THEY ARE NOW THE SAME PEOPLE TELLING OUR GOVERNMENT TO 
NEGOTIATE WITH A PERSON WHO IS CLEARLY A KILLER. I urge people on this 
forum, particularly people like Matek who are also speaking on behalf of 
political entities to rexamine there positions on Kony and LRA..yes you 
don't like the NRM and President Museveni and apparently you are ready to 
exploit all ways of descrediting him, but going to the extent of endorsing 
Kony and LRA, i think is a step to far and goes out of the rilm of civil 
political rivalry. Every Ugandan, irrespective of political affiliation, 
should see Kony for what he is, a criminal, FULL STOP, in that respect all 
hands should be on deck to profer solutions to end the killings in the 
north. To criticize the government for not doing enough to protect people in 
the north and then turn around to accuse government for killing innocent 
civilians when, government goes on the offensive against Kony is 
disingenuous to say the least.

�GO out and kill all the men, women and children you find in Acholi. Leave nobody standing, for they have risen against me and none shall be spared.� 

With those words, LRA leader Joseph Kony has set his remaining troops against the people of his home region, whom he accuses of betrayal. 

After they have cleared Acholi of all humans and other living things, Kony�s troops have been directed by their apparently insane leader to start killing the people of Lango. 

Captured LRA fighters confirmed that Kony has given orders to his field commanders to start exterminating all the Acholi in Uganda because they have been contaminated. Acholi from Sudan and elsewhere shall be used to repopulate the region, the rebel chief argues. 

�Kony told us to kill all the Acholi in Gulu, Kitgum and Pader districts and others living in other parts of Uganda, accusing them of rising against the LRA and not being pure Acholi but a mixture of blood from Banyankole and other tribes. He said only children who have been born in the bush are the pure breed of the future Acholi,� said James Odo a captive. 

According to security sources, Kony�s order comes in the wake of massive recruitment of the local militias such as the Frontiers Guard in Kitgum, the Elephant Brigade in Gulu and Amuka in Lango. 

�It�s true we have received intelligence report that Kony has told his commanders here in Uganda to start killing all the civilians in the north since they are now accepting to be armed by the 
government to fight the LRA rebels,� a UPDF commander said. �We are doing everything possible to avert the impending widespread killings which the LRA fighters are planning to carry out following orders from their leader.� 

Odo also revealed that most of the children being abducted by the LRA rebels are taken straight to Kony�s camps in southern Sudan, southeast of Juba Town, where the boys are trained as fighters and the girls are used as wives for the LRA to produce more children. 
Odo a �major� in the LRA, who was on January 27 captured together with other LRA combatants by the UPDF 509 brigade in Pader during a fierce battle at Wool, Agago County said he had been a rebel fighter since 1994. 

Odo said most of the children, newborn babies and their mothers in LRA captivity are now in the LRA control Altar Brigade directly under Joseph Kony near Juba. This brigade is said to be raising Kony�s planned pure Acholi generation. 

Kony is reported to be teaching the children himself how to live according to God�s 10 commandments so that, the new Acholi breed will be a respectable tribe. 

Lt. Col. Paul L�Okech, the UPDF 509 Brigade commander in Pader said, �Kony is desperate and will do anything to get publicity. UPDF has now reached the core of the LRA by capturing several mothers and children of their commanders. 
�By yesterday (Tuesday) we had captured 28 child mothers and 47 children. We have now broken LRA�s backbone.� 
Kitgum LC5 chairman Nahaman Ojwee confirmed receiving reports of the impending genocide following the recruitment of militia but said, �We shall not be scared. We have gone too far with our recruitment drive.� 

Pader LC5 chairman Edwin Yakobo Komakech said, �Whether we recruit LDUs or not the rebels will continue killing.� 

Gulu LC5 chairman Col. Walter Ochora said, �The problem is the politicisation of the recruitment of the LDUs which is causing the problem. We shall continue to recruit the LDUs quietly and, hand them over to the army for training.�
