THE Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Henry Orombi, has asked the Lord's Resistance
Army (LRA) rebels to end the insurgency in northern Uganda.

In an Easter message to Ugandans, Orombi asked LRA leader Joseph Kony to seek peaceful
resolution to the conflict.

He asked the Government to do all in its power to pursue peaceful means to end the war
in the north.

"How much longer will we continue to see the blood of Ugandans flowing? Jesus suffered
violence so that humanity should live in peace and for each other.

"He rose from the dead so that humanity should have hope for the future because he
holds the future in his hands," Orombi said.

He said the message of Easter is that of hope. "We are sending greetings in this
spirit of hope to President Yoweri Museveni and all the people of God in Uganda," he
said.

Orombi said the world had little hope, if any, in the world today. He said many lives
were being lost in evil and selfish conflicts caused by terrorism and war.

"There is hope for us as a nation because Christ who was born, walked our world and
died as a sacrifice, is alive. He is in control of our world. The human events are not
spinning out of control," he said.
