Federo caucus set

PREPARED: Ojok Bleo

By Vision Reporters

PRO-FEDERO MPs have formed a caucus.

The aim is to educate the people about the type of federal status they are advocating.

The Federal Studies Caucus will be launched on Monday at Parliament.

A notice at Parliament said the caucus would act as a think tank on the science of federal studies.

Ojok Bleo (Kioga) yesterday said the caucus had attracted membership from all parts of the country. Richard Sebuliba Mutumba (Kawempe South) chairs it.

Bleo said many Ugandans did not fall for it at the time of submitting views to the Constitutional Review Commission (CRC) because they did not understand it.

Cabinet decided that the regional tier system be adopted for districts which wanted to form regional governments instead of adopting federalism, a decision which was rejected by certain circles including the Buganda Lukiiko.

Meanwhile, the Advocacy for Federal Governance in Uganda, has said it has been allowed to join todays demonstration against the Cabinets stand on federo.

The national coordinator, Kassim Waiswa, told the press yesterday that they had urged some Mengo officials to participate, saying issues concerning federo were of great concern.
