The presidential assistant on political affairs, Moses Byaruhanga (left), has said Mengo has already achieved the federo it demanded for.
If federo means sharing power, Mengo has already achieved this because the Government has transferred many of its services to the kingdom, he said.
He was addressing residents of Kingo sub-county in Masaka town, where he launched the Uganda Young Movementists executives. Byaruhanga said Mengo officials were blackmailing the Government and misleading the Baganda by saying they never gained anything from the federo talks.
He blasted political leaders who walked out of the Movement and spread rumours that President Yoweri Museveni was begging them to return.
President Museveni has not begged anybody to return to the Movement, Byaruhanga said. He said some of the leaders were just picked from Kampala as workers and their posts were filled when they walked out.
Actually, the Movement will grow stronger without them. After all, they never contributed anything to the Movement struggle, Byaruhanga said.
He told fans not to fear the merging of political groups like the Forum for Democratic Change, saying they were making it easier for the Movement to win in the 2006 elections.
The presidential adviser on military affairs, Lt. Col. Proscovia Nalweyiso, blasted those who wanted to use federo to launch rebel activities against the Government.
