For me I knew right from the Beginning that this so called Bigombe thing or is it "peace process would not succeed". why? Simply Museveni and his goons believe in wars ..the man has believed in wars from way back in 1980 when he went to the Luwero bush to fight the UPC governemnt ..mbhu I hear UPC rigged elections.
The DP against whom the UPC supposingly "rigged the elections" did not go to the Bush. And because Museveni decided to go to the bush the resulting consequencies in terms of Human suffering in Luwero area was enormous and tremendous.
Museveni was to launch yet another war this time against the Acholi people ..I hear he is hunting for "Kony". For twenty solid years the man has been fighting "kony". He enlisted the help of Witch doctors,..to no vail..John garang... Taban Amin e.t.c still Museveni cannot defaet KONY...and now in frustration, Kaguta decides he will Just Proclaim that he has defeated "KONY"
The fact is fellow citizens, the NRM military dictatorship cannot be trusted nor counted upon to conduct any meaningful peace negotiations with "rebels" ( if any exists). Take it of live it

Betyy Begombe might as well head on back to her god father in the US... Indeed the very 'rebels" who are supposingly negotiating "peace" with Museveni , end up shoot by the UPDF.. With gee Museveni proclaims that he has killed "Rebel" reminants..and now having seeing that peace in Northern Uganda is pretty much a far fetched phenominon Kaguta now like some sort of a chief priest or JUJU man , by hook or crook, PROCLAIMS that Mbhu he has "defeated the rebels"...mbhu the few remainding "rebels' should Surrender!!! ..meanwhile the BCC is at it again..launching massive propaganda champaign for Museveni.. with the so called photo's of Abducted "rebel" kidd soldiers.. >MK > >Simon Nume <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > >Matek > >if "This report does not necessarily reflect the views of the United Nations " >why post it? > >Looks like its difficult to find 'Kony' to make a peacedeal with , so he will be just defeated without anything signed >Nume > >Matek Opoko <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > > >Uganda: LRA Rebels Should Just Surrender - Museveni > > >Email This Page > >Print This Page > >Visit The Publisher's Site > >UN Integrated Regional Information Networks > >January 27, 2005 >Posted to the web January 27, 2005 > >Kampala > >Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni said on Wednesday his army had defeated the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) rebels, whom he advised to surrender, saying no retribution awaited them. > >In an address to the nation marking the 19th anniversary of his rise to power, Museveni made no reference to on-going peace efforts aimed at ending the 18-year war between the military and the LRA, which has displaced hundreds of thousands of people in northern Uganda. > >There had been a glimmer of hope on Tuesday that the peace process might be moving ahead when the chief mediator, former Ugandan minister Betty Bigombe, announced that "by the end of the week, both sides will have agreed on a date when to sign a ceasefire agreement". > >Museveni said: "Kony's group has been completely defeated and its remnants are simply fugitives whom we are capturing day by day [ ] Those still remaining in the bush should come out now, because they have nothing to fear." > >Museveni took power on January 26, 1986 after a five-year bush war. If you hard credited or hoped for the peace thing to succed maybe you hard forgot that no transaction that deppend on honesty and principal can ever take root when a known crook and a "conjugal liar" [to echo the man], to which Museveni lives and breath. But all is not lost though. Only way in the saying that he who lives by the sword dies by the same.jO
