Whereas the Archbishop's appeal is understandable, given the suffering of our fellow citizens in camps of Northern and Eastern Uganda, the appeal would resonate louder and clearly if it was also addressed specifically  to the NRM military dictatorship.

Fellow Citizens, the "Government" ( if that is what you want to call the dictatorship in Uganda)is responsible  for the security of Every  single citizen of Uganda...not "KONY" .

Obviously,  for close to twenty years, the NRM has failed  miserable to  protect citizens in Eastern and Northern  from  the so called "rebels" . The first step which the NRM military dictatorship MUST take in order to bring peace to Northern and Eastern Ugandan is to realize the simply fact that NRM policies  of fightng wars  and  conducting Military conquest  is retrogressive and CAN NEVER  bring peace to citizens in Northern and Eastern Uganda. Only after the NRM has registered and realize this fact then and only then can the NRM engage in meaningful "peace Negotiations" with the so called rebels.

But as long as the NRM still believes that it can use force or intimidation tactics or outright propaganda against the so called  rebels  in the hope that somehow this moves would propel the so called rebels to engage the NRM in genuine " peace talks"..then all is in vain.. the people will continue to suffer..and the Odama will continue shouting!..nothing..repeat nonthing will change!

Talk peace, Odama tells LRA

By Anne Mugisa
Gulu Archbishop John Baptist Odama has appealed to the LRA leaders to return to the peace-negotiating table and stop killing people.
In his Easter message, Odama urged the rebels to take dialogue as the only way to end the 19-year-long war.
Gods people deserve a future of peace. As Jesus came out of the tomb on the third day and rose to a new life, the suffering people in whom the Lord is truly present must be given a chance to come out of this dark tomb of death and rise to a new life worth of a human being, Odama said.
He lashed out at political dishonesty and intrigue, saying Ugandans must put political differences aside and unite for peace.
Odama said violence was beginning to erode the hope that peace was about to return to the north. He commended those involved in the peace efforts.
