Bakoko booed at show
NO POLITICS: Cool and Bakoko at the launch on Friday
By Richard Komakech
GENDER and cultural affairs minister Bakoko Bakoru had a nasty time at a local musicians concert when she attempted to use the occasion to extol Movement politics.
Bakoko came on stage amid clapping when it was announced that she had for the first time honoured a musical invitation.
She was officiating at the launch of Bebe Cools album Nkolera Baana Bange at Hotel Africana on Friday.
However, the crowd was infuriated when she pulled out a four-page speech and said, Twenty years ago while we were growing up, we wanted to enjoy such things but there were curfews all over the place.
A reveller screamed, This is not a political rally. We paid to come here.
Bakoko defiantly re-asserted that the National Resistance Movement had brought big fortunes for Uganda.
But today because of the good environment brought about by the Movement government, you are able to come here and listen to Bebe Cool, Bakoko said.
She was backed by health state minister Mike Mukula, who said, You have booed the minister, but take it or leave it, Mzee set up this environment that you are enjoying.
The crowd was chorusing with her, Bebe Cool oyee! Bebe Cool is Bebe hot.
Bakoko, who praised Bebe Cool for his music, bought the launch CD at sh1m.

Baganda MPs irk Kiggundu
By Chris Kiwawulo
A Forum for Democratic Change (fdc) mobiliser, Dr. Sulaiman Kiggundu, has accused Baganda MPs of supporting the third term.
He said the MPs betrayed Ugandans by accepting another term for President Yoweri Museveni.
Baganda MPs are treacherous. They are supporting the breach of the Constitution by supporting the third term, Kiggundu said.
He said this on Tuesday at an FDC rally at Bwaise Growers in Kawempe.
FDC launched a week public campaign in Kampala last week.
