A friend sent me the following e-mail (in quotes):
"I have a question about the introduction of the Nile perch into Lake Victoria. No one seems to know who released the fish, why, and when exactly. Now my hunch is that this wasn't an accident, though. Do you know more about this issue? Please let me know. (I just saw a documentary on the Nile perch export industry (and the arms import industry) in Tanzania, "Darwin's Nightmare" by Hubert Sauper - a very fine piece, beautifully photographed, moving, but lacking in overall perspective.
