Austrian MPs tour children centre in Gulu
By Oketch Bitek
GULU - Four Austrian Members of Parliament have said developed countries and international bodies have forgotten the armed conflict in northern Uganda.
The MPs were on Sunday visiting SOS Children Centre in Gulu Municipality.

The head of the delegation, Ms Petra Bayr, said it was a pity that the international community had forgotten the northern war yet they were paying much attention to conflicts in Darfur and other parts of the world.

She called upon the United Nations to finance the African Union to end the conflict.
Austria funds several projects run by SOS to cater for children orphaned by the war and HIV/Aids.

The delegation met the district Members of Parliament, Mr Norbert Mao (Gulu), Mr Zachary Olum (Nwoya) and Jacob Oulanya (Omoro).
