Implement what the donors want

Uganda cannot survive without foreign aid. Given our poor economy, I think we cannot manage without these donors who sponsor more than half of our budget. All claims that we can sustain the economy minus donor aid is simply wishful thinking.

Presidents in African countries like to frequent foreign capitals with begging bowls in their hands. Museveni has perfected this duty with dedicated assistance from his numerous ministers. It is time to stop deceiving our people that we can be self reliant. The bitter reality is that our national budget is first approved before being read by the line minister. The Works Minister recently admitted we dance to the tunes of donors since the latter give most of the cash for roads.

The government has no choice but to put in place what is being demanded. Short of that UPE will collapse, people in IDP camps will starve and infrastructure like roads will go to the dogs.

Very insightful indeed.  Your points are valid.  Whoever pays the piper,  they say, calls the tune. Museveni can only lashout , throw a fit so to say, against  "donors".   The son of Kaguta knows very well he cannot do without AID monies from International Donor community.
