The UK is doubling the amounts of small arms pumped
in Africa, the Americans are doing the same and they re disarming the militias.
So I ask, does any one know how many guns are in great Lakes as we
speak?
I call all this crap and they call me
mouthy.

Leaders to act against militia

By Halima Abdallah WEEKLY OBSERVER
The Tripartite Joint Commission for D.R. Congo, Rwanda and Uganda has
agreed to disarm and prosecute militia leaders, terrorists and other
criminals threatening regional stability.
The United States facilitated the meeting held in Kigali. Other
representatives were from Burundi, the African Union, the European Union
Presidency and the United Nations Mission in the Democratic Republic of
Congo (MONUC).
A press statement from the United States embassy says the meeting
agreed to disarm the militia operating in eastern Congo and commended
MONUC for advancing regional stability and extending its mandate to
September 2005. Uganda also got praise for sending away Congolese
militia leaders who recently fled into the country.
The African Union pledged to deploy forces in eastern DRC to disarm
militia forces.
