A GROUP of over 30 armed Karimojong warriors on Sunday evening shot and wounded four Amuka militia
s when
they attacked Aliwang Internally Displaced People's camp in Adwari sub-county.
Adwari LC3 Chairperson John Bosco Olwit said the warriors overpowered local militias guarding the camp. They drove away an unspecified number of cattle. He said they attacked when he was addressing a campaign rally at around 5 pm.
"I heard gunshots and immediately people who were listening to my speech took off in different directions", Olwit said.

He said the UPDF was informed and were helping the militias in pursuing the warriors who have intensified rustling cattle in IDP camps in the district
The MP for Otuke, Mr Daniel Omara Atubo, said cattle rustling in IDP camps in Otuke was a daily activity. He said the warriors on Friday looted 17 cows from Aliwang.
