The army has massed troops at the border with the DR Congo (DRC) on the axis of Lake Albert.
The army said the move is to curb the possible crossing by the ADF and the PRA rebels to the Mt. Rwenzori areas following renewed fighting between Congolese government troops and militiamen.
Heavy fighting broke out on Wednesday last week in Blue Mountains, 30km west of Lake Albert as the DRC troops confronted militias loyal to Bosco Ntaganda, who has been recruiting and training young boys and girls into the ranks of his militia.
Local authorities in Bundibugyo said at least 100 people had fled their homes in Bugoma and Semliki villages and had pitched camp in Budiba in Ntoroko county.
UPDF second division spokesman Lt. Richard Tabaro Kiconco yesterday said, "We have increased our surveillance in the area because we suspect the enemies would use the confusion in the Congo to infiltrate us."

He said the army was on full alert to handle any possible attack.
