FOLLOWING the attack by a group of rebels suspected to be Allied Democratic Forces rebels by the UPDF, the army has cleared most bushes in Bundibugyo district.
"We are searching and clearing all bushes in the area. We suspect there could be remnants of the ADF," said the army spokesperson for the region,Lt. Tabaro Kiconco, during an interview on Tuesday.
Tabaro said last week, the army repulsed suspected ADF rebels, who were fleeing the UN peacekeepers and the DR Congo troops.
He said, however, the situation in Bundibugyo was not alarming.
The ADF rebels, who are suspected to have regrouped, crossed from the eastern DR Congo into Uganda through Ntoroko border entry.
Tabaro said the rebels have bases in Mwalika, Ngetti and Budiguya, about 25 kilometres in eastern Congo.
