Monitor letter

Ugandans should just mourn

It is always interesting to see the strategies our government employs in allocation of national resources. Since the media broke the sad news of hiring a private law firm to prosecute Dr Kizza Besigye at Shs 2.5 billion, I have been living in shock.

Where are these institutions we claim to have built? The government is now dis-empowering them to dish out billions that could actually strengthen the same institutions. Wow, what a vision!

The Daily Monitor analysis of what these kind of funds can do drives me crazy. Do Ugandans really see this or we are just jokers.

Muniini Mulera, in his recent article, mentioned the corruption jokes that we are being served by our government. Is this another form of corruption?

As if that is not enough, it is tax free when poor Ugandans earning lousy amounts are heavily taxed.

People wake up, the country is under a terrible attack.
