And Noc'l explains it as lack of or because of global exposure! Come on now Gau
be serious for a change!
Who funded these forces of darkness in the great lakes?? Or maybe let me put
it this way, to drive the message home: Why is it that the Rwandan genocide
gained global exposure but not that of Northern Uganda? Aren't there genocide
in the DRC? Why has it not caught global exposure? 1 million Rwandans were
killed in a Tutsis' engineered and foreign backed war in the country. 5 million
Congolese are dead as we speak because of these forces of darkness!! As there
been any global exposure to the Congolese genocide? The last time I checked
Nkunda is being supported by dubious forces scheming for Congo resources
mindless of the human sufferings!
Gau you have failed to even read correctly what Mulindwa is opining about and
driving at with this "And one can wonder why we had it in South Africa but not
in Rwanda or Liberia, is it because the atrocities committed in South Africa
were done by Whites?"!
Boy we need more edukecon here!

Recall that even Madela's last years in prision were very special not
characteristical of a political rebel in South Africa. Designs were already
taking effect.
Take Rwanda for example, if the genocide had not caught global attention that
elevated the political gains from it, it would have bounched. Now Kagame saw
that potential gain, and they are maximizing on it.
In Uganda, the genocide has never won global exposure appart from distorted
coverages here and ther. Before Dafur, the Northern Ugandan crisis was already
there.

Michale,
Just like you, I too yearn for freedom, Liberty or unity. Perhaps with
democracy included, it may correspond to reconciliation. In short, the rule of
law and justice!!!
A pre-requisite for reconciliation is that the crime be established and that
the culprit accepts the deeds.
We often hear analogues with the South African Truth experience. I take that
with a little some salt. There was a very special condition dictating the south
African truth and reconciliation reality:
The way I see it, South Africans were able to do it because the Bazungu
control the economy, the tools for modern society building and even the tools
for ensuring continued democratic development. These are resources the ANC,
PAN-AFRICANS or INKATHA could not do without or risk going down the drains as
does Zimbabwe, Angola etc.
They could not afford to dispense of the whites and their contribution.
It would never have worked if for example the apartheid white community and
the Africans had more or less level development.
They did not want the Bazingu to leave but they did not know how to say it in
manners that could undermine their own self-confidence and authority. So, they
conjured the eyes of the grass roots with the terms "truth commission".

EC_body.hmmessage {font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;} EM,
I am for trial for reconciliation. I want to see a South Africa style 'truth
and reconciliation commission". I tell you what EM, I'm as bitter as you are.
But the tit for tat, eye for eye politics has to stop. I don't want anybody to
come and tell me who my enemy is when in fact I have no enemies. Not even in
my domestic life. At least I don't know about them! I have people I disagree
with politically but that does not make them my enemies.
Should Museveni stand for trial? Yes he should. But for the purpose of 'us'
knowing the truth. EM, do you really want to see a firing squad in Kampala?
How has this sort of action brought order to Iraq?
