Mayimuna and Gook,
This has nothing to do with professionalism or tribalism. We all know that
Museveni has committed mistakes, so have most of the politicians seeking to
lead Uganda. However, the same people who only a few years back tried their
best to convince the rest of Uganda and indeed the whole world that Museveni
was the best thing that happened to us since independence are the same people
now saying he is worse than Amin and Hitler combined.
I think someone or some people are assuming that Ugandans and indeed the
world outside there are of so limited intelligence that they cannot think for
themselves.
I have not heard of many people on this forum promoting good tribal harmony
but all everyone talks about is how to remove Museveni from power or how to
keep him there as if that alone can solve Uganda's problems. These are the same
questions I have asked Dr Besigye everytime I interviewed him and unlike some
of his supporters, he seems to be more coherent about the issue and what he
wants.
Many people trying to convince the world that Museveni is Satan incarnate do
not seem to ask themselves questions about how Museveni came to stay this long
in office if he was the devil that they say he is. Democracy is the recurrent
suspicion that more than half of the people are right more than half of the
time. People should be more convincing to me than just splashing around
propaganda, some of which a critical person like me can see through very easily.
Somebody just emailed a document which in my view, is very dangerous and
which I cannot pass around because it simply promotes tribalism. Complete with
a list of who is who in which office in Uganda, it talks about the greater part
of our economy, security, politics and way of life being controlled by Bakiga
"even before any of them ascends to the presidency to lead us, yet they are the
ones seeking very frantically to have one of their own to next lead Uganda". I
cannot buy that kind of argument because it can pit one section of Ugandans
against the Bakiga, most of whom I know to be very honest, hardworking,
patriotic and industrious Ugandans. Things like that should not be promoted.
Recently a forum member asked that people discuss and see how to help flood
victims in Teso and Lira and only two or three people made passing comments
about it, meaning that all that some people care is power, Museveni, etc and
nothing to do with the welfare of fellow Ugandans. In fact there are people in
this forum who are just plain tribalists and try to use it as a political
weapon, whether they are anti-northerners, anti-Bahima, anti-Baganda or
anti-Banyarwanda. I travel home frequently and live among the cosmopolitan
folks in central Uganda and I do not see these elitist sentiments I see on this
forum. There, we are brothers and sisters, our children live and play together,
we go to do things together, we give each other lift when one is lacking
immediate transport, we joke together and rarely take political invectives on
FM radios seriously except for its entertainment value. So let us stop burying
our heads in the sand claiming.

I had almost come to believe that you were a "professional" journalist..i mean
as opposed to my good friend Kateregga who is obviously using that title as a
cover up.
Do you really think that to hate M7 you have to be an Acholi or Langi or a
relative of Rwakasisi?
Just a few days a go i wouldn't have thought that you too saw Ugandan politics
using those tribal glasses!
Now if you who is even exposed to outside life can think like that ..what would
we expect of my relative in remote Kidera?
Am beginning to give up any hope for the future of Uganda. NRM has surely won
the war.

Jennifer,
Are you really who I think you should be are are you just another daughter of
Bazilio Okello hiding under that name. If you were Rwakasisi's daughter, I
would understand. Could you explain to me why some of you westerners hate
Museveni more than the Acholi or Langi?
Is there something you are hiding or is this another of the rumoured talk of
your strategy to position yourselves as credible opponents of Museveni, so that
when he leaves power you are able to continue ruling the country, by then
claiming to have led Ugandans in 'opposing Museveni's dictatorship'? I can
understand why a daughter of Chris Rwakasisi might have Museveniphobia but I do
not understand some of you really.

But what would be the importance of recognizing or noticing him if really
people can tap into their humanity and psychology to sieve M7's deeds, from the
60s upto now.Is a serial killer or snipper worth a heroic recognition? You
make me laugh guys. I'd rather applaud a Holly wood icon who has not led to
the suffering of others and denied the evil actions. Let such a person rock
my ribs with laughter in comedy or nudity than imagining the blood the hero has
shed. Let BBC, CNN etc recognize m7 for jornalists involved probably care less
about the plight of those at the dude's mercy.

Whoever is saying Museveni's tour to the US was ignored by international
media is a liar. I watched him, in the Bush White house, on CNN, BBC World, NBC
and Sky News. At least I am subscribed to all those news channels and know what
I am talking about.

Well noted! This Racist Media, out of all Black African Presidential visits it
only ocassionally reports about Obsanjo, Mandela and Mbeki's visit. Mandela
deserves the attention in my view though.
But spends more time on silly things about Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and
similar naughty people. I get surprised that when someone
makes love scenes (and sometimes nude performances) on a movie screen and is
referred to as a "celebrity" instead of repudiating such deplorable actions.
Most these Westernized Celebrities are people who speech (say through their
songs) or actions are explicitly disgusting and deplorable.
This also shows that People like M7 and his ilk plus other wannabes are mere
local heroes and it should drive home a strong point that although sometimes
the media and similar thinking people tend to make certain people look like
they are larger than life (sometimes calling
them "celebrities"/"big people"), in reality we are all just simple people who
are equal before our Creator and we should respect
each other regardless of presumed social status and precieved class.
True celebrities to me are sports aces of extremely rare talents, like Pele,
people who have contributed selflessly to social change like: - Mahtama Gandhi,
Nelson Mandela, Great Scients like Einstein, Graham Bell, And a man/woman who
makes a living through extremely honest means.
I often wonder how more unrecognized they'll be in the After Life, if even
certain parts of the world that one would think should recognize them do not.
They are mere actors on stage and the rest of us an audience, soon they'll
disappear in thin air so will their Yes men/womens and hangers on.
La lutta Continua, Viva the honest common man.
Best Regards,
Yours Sincerely,
Faisal Kirunda Nkutu,

MU7VEN is in Washington but no news about him in the press, not even on CNN!
That shows that the Ugandan leader is more insignificant in the world than he
thinks.
I read about his Washington trip only in the Ugandan press!
Imagine, I am just 300mls from Washington, DC
