But it is not only Uganda Police that are idlers so is the Uganda brains. My
God that Constitutional square has been around since I was a kid in Kampala,
it was called The City Square. Al Haji Kadingidi had a shop just opposite
it. Moslems used to hold Mauledi into it to raise money to build the Mosque.
Those were days before half the members of UAH were born for Christ sake.
And to today when I am a senior citizen we are still fighting for that
crappy piece of land? Geez what about building a better one? How about
re-planning it? I am looking at this photograph and I can see places where I
sat and talked to girls in 60/70s man. This thing has not changed a single
bit. What did Ssebana change? I know I sat with a girl here!!! I ate
Mandazi with a girl this side!!!! I ate lunch with a girl at that point!!!!
I sat here when old women were singing Kabalagala Gonja to the president
!!!! I sat here when Yusuf Lule stated Kyetwayagalizaanga Embazzi
. !!!!!
And I was here when Museveni attacked it with a Land Rover and shot people
including Katikiro Kavuma that took a bullet from Museveni. And all these
are very old memories for all these women have grown up and moved on some to
great successes and some to total failures, politicians and Hajis except
Museveni are dead. And the city square is still the very same crappy part of
Kampala to today? Haji Kadingidi wanted that land revitalized in way 70s
man.
Ki Luts, there is a thing called a 5 10 20 year plan in all cities, I
challenge any one to tell me why Kampala road at that site has not changed
for the last 40 or so years. And today we are standing up to blame Police
Officers that idle into it, maybe there is a whole lot of idling in the
brains of Ugandans and Police Officers are simply a symptom of the larger
problem we have in the state, as a society !!!!! For may be even you as Ki
Luts that has failed to allow the kids that qualify into Makerere University
as land designers and cartographers to get jobs to make this city look
better is an idler. Why for example is CPS building still there in 2012?
Honestly tell me why. We need to change this revolving reasoning of when we
blame them we get a better country, this is not a Uganda Police failure,
this is a societal failure. And you need to start to reason as people than
getting a sector and attack that as if you are any better, for that is
defined as bullying.
