It is the very same brains of Olara Otunu that sat with him in Nairobi peace
talks for by the books Museveni was a good and respectable man with a
respectable word. Trust me you cannot admonish Edward Pojim to understand
Museveni for a killer he is, for you do not have as many degrees as he
does. When the educateds in society start to reason this way give up on the
country. I had every reason to dump Uganda passport for the educated
Ugandans reason worse than my mother and Museveni targeted very well.

Uganda is that fucked.

EM,

You have no idea how painful more esp if you get "real" info form inside.

I think Pojim is looking at things thru the Yankees eye which of-course is
always clouded when it comes to 3rd world affairs.

Come to think of it, we are going to be in Juba as long as M7 is in the
drivers seat.

Imagine the cost to the Ugandan tax payer and the opportunity cost. The
Yankees have shown no interest in footing the bills.

AU and IGAD are useless and toothless bodies.

By the way only yesterday a woman died giving birth in MULAGO hospital

I really shudder at the thought of the whole idea of intervening in South
Sudan, even if for good neighborliness!

Namesake;

Let Kenya remain on the fence as Uganda takes the necessary steps to stop
genocide in S. Sudan. From Secretary Mohamed's statement, I think the best
Kenya can do is talk and talk and talk some more. They seem content being
inactive under AU, while nations are bleeding to death.

Kenya vows to spearhead peace initiatives in the region

Description: http://www.coastweek.com/00_twenty.jpg

NAIROBI (Xinhua) -- Kenya has vowed to step up her peace diplomacy to
resolve regional conflicts which have beset several countries in the Africa
region.

Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed said creating relative
stability will be crucial for economic prosperity of the continent.

“Kenya has played a major role in the fostering of peace in the neighboring
countries and will continue with the peace diplomacy with the neighbors,”
Mohamed told journalists in Nairobi.

The East African nation successful mediating Sudan peace talks that
culminated in the signing of the comprehensive peace agreement in Nairobi in
2005 and Somalia peace talks that led to the formation of transitional
government of Somalia in 2004.

Regional analysts say with Somalia already a serious problem for the region
due to activities of Al-Qaida allied terror group, Al-Shabaab, another war
in South Sudan, would simply be disastrous.

Mohamed said the Kenya which is surrounded by countries in political turmoil
will strive to ensure that peace prevails in the powder keg region.

She said that the economic prospects that the country aims to achieve can
only be realized within a peaceful and stable environment both internally
and externally.

The cabinet secretary said Kenya was the first country to react to the South
Sudan crisis as they moved in within four days of the conflict which is a
record time in the world.

Mohamed said Nairobi has also been involved in the brokering peace between
DRC government and the M23 rebels in a peace deal that was also signed in
Nairobi on Dec. 12, 2013, a very special day for both Kenya and DRC.

The agreement was part of ongoing talks between the M23 and the Government,
held in Uganda, under the auspices of Museveni as mediator and chairperson
of the ICGLR, as well as Ugandan Defense Minister and Facilitator, Crispus
Kiyonga.

The M23 which is composed of soldiers who mutinied from the DRC national
army in April, along with other armed groups, has clashed repeatedly with
the FARDC.

The deal came after UN officials have deplored the activities of other armed
groups in the region, including Mayi Mayi, the FDLR, the National Army for
the Liberation of Uganda (NALU) and the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF).

The Nairobi agreement also came after the M23 rebels had pulled out of the
city after regional leaders came under diplomatic pressure, and in February
neighboring states signed a framework peace agreement with the DRC.

Mohamed said Kenya has also been involved in the search for peace in the
troubled Central Africa Republic where she said the situation has started to
normalize.

“Kenya is also proud to have taken part in the peace diplomacy and
negotiations in the Central African Republic and the we hope that the
interim president who am glad is a woman will bring peace and stability to
the nation,” Mohamed.

The president of the strife-torn West African nation Michel Djotodia and his
Prime Minister Nicolas Tiangaye resigned under pressure from regional
leaders on Jan. 10.

The beleaguered Djotodia, whose chaotic nine-month rule has been marked by
the abuses of his mostly Muslim rebel movement, was forced to resign after
being summoned to neighboring Chad by its president, Idriss Deby Itno.

Itno, a regional power broker

with other neighboring leaders, criticized him for failing to stop the
continued sectarian violence in the country.

Djotodia’s exit leaves the state in the hands of a weak transitional
government and facing an uncertain future.

The West African nation has endured five coups and perpetual instability
since gaining independence from France in 1960.
