The frightening thing is the failure of Ugandans to understand the danger
they face into these countries. We are getting reports out of South Sudan
that Uganda women that have been pregnant by Sudanese are fearing for their
lives, you see Sudan men do not want their wives to flee back to Uganda with
the unborn babies, so the men in South Sudan are cutting the bellies of the
women to remove their babies before Uganda women flee the country and many
have died in the process.

The danger of Uganda women in South Sudan is simply frightening.

Emmanuel,

This makes it very difficult for Ugandans to be invited to participate in
international competitions. The pity is they destroy the careers of those
who are keen sportsmen or women, who are then denied the chance of competing
abroad. Sportsmen disappearing does not only happen with Ethiopians, it
happens with amny African countries. Just last year,m a whole women's
volleyball team from Sierra Leone also disappeared and claimed asylum. I
doubt that the local organisers can spot a person determined to disappear.
As in the case of Sierra Leone, even the organisers and officials themselves
disappeared.

It is obvious that these guys didn't go to New Zealand to play cricket but
to claim political asylum. Ugandan sports teams are now becoming like
Ethiopian teams that always claim political asylum when they go for
international events in European and North American countries.

Two Ugandans missing after qualifiers

New Zealand immigration officials say they will deport two Uganda cricketers
who went into hiding last week after playing in a World Cup qualifying
tournament.
Faruk Ochimi, 18, and Raymond Otim, 27 couldn't be found when the Uganda
team was due to leave New Zealand on January 30. Their visitor visas have
expired and Immigration officials say they will be deported when they are
found.
The men went missing in the North Island town of Whakatane where Uganda was
based during the ICC World Cup qualifiers. Uganda finished last in the
10-team tournament, losing all six of its matches.
Immigration officials haven't confirmed reports the men may try to seek
political asylum.
