On a serious note

We have a man out of London UK who came here for a vacation, he over stayed
his visa and for unknown reason he got arrested by Canadian immigration and
detained about last Friday. And it is unknown for in Canada you do not see
an immigration officer to exit, we really don’t give a whooie if you are
heading out. He spent the weekend in papers claiming that he is a woman
living in a woman body and he resents the fact that Canadians do not
understand trans gender issue for he can never be put in a men cell in UK.
It wrapped up the weekend for we read and we laughed about it. But he
became an international issue so immigration released him to a shelter of
women. So you have a man claiming that he is a woman and he has breasts but
he has not yet got an operation to have a Kandahar installed. And now he is
in a women shelter. Guess what, over the weekend he raped a couple of women
in the shelter. Women that had been in shelter for they were raped in their
families. Of late we are now understanding that this fellow was arrested in
UK for child molestation, charged and convicted, he served time for
molestation. Yea we love to know who decided what when and where and I can
see lawyers salivating on this one, for it is a very intriguing issue when
you get a man and dump him into a shelter of women for he says he is a man.
Are you firkin kidding me !!!!!!

Lord, It is time as my maker you just recall me man !!!!!!

What are the steps required? The funny thing is how things are being done
back home is sooooo frustrating! Nothing works on a straight line.

Otyo! Now thank for this one and Mulindwa and Buganda Kingdom with their
Kuhingira money can't afford to develop Bamunanika - the sit of the Kabaka.
They spend so much on weddings but their environs lack good facilities.

Thank you so very much for this financial lesson.

Tell us more how this works in practice for small investors like me.

Dan Bwanika , absolutely folks investment in their own towns might be a
better alternative to waiting for the government to come through and fund
this type of development. Indeed many forumists here have suggested
including me, the floating of municipal bonds for our cities. I think
Kampala is quite ripe for this type of 10 or 30 year municipal bond. Why do
you think the City minister is so hell bent on taking Engineering and other
infrastructure projects away from the Mayor's office - because he fears what
ordinary folks like you and I could do with such an investment opportunity.
I'm still waiting for such an approach - the diaspora is eagerly waiting to
buy up such bonds- it works both ways by putting the one who floats the bond
on a plan to return something to investors at maturity and folks can get a
little money out of it. They make a lot of sense -if they are sold to
indigenous Ugandans, but nothing should stop friends from gobbling them up
in a limited way. There was a time in the last 30 years - when Japanese
investors owned a good chunk of Manhattan, then it was the Saudis, now it is
the Chinese with billions of dollars who own huge sky scrapers in NY. One
thing I know for sure, you can't fleece them - they will come after you -
with the entire weight of the international community!

Forumists,

I am toying around with a new urban development concept. Funding of Urban
developments. Can't rich Ugandans invest in Urban developments like housing
estates, sports stadiums, car parks, recreational centers whic are well
organised as it is in Europe or the U.S.A?

The Town/Municipal and City councils gazette and produce Town/Municipal and
City structure plans and their after call on Ugandans to invest in estates,
commercial center.

I believe such calls for residents to fund such projects as their own future
investment will make urban regions more productive, pro people and are not
prune to American urban decay. Of course this calls for legislating how much
such investment can raise the cost of living in Town/Municipal and Cities.

Let urban centers like Mbarara, Jinja, Hoima,

Ndejje(University Town), Kabale (University Town), Mukono (Univeristy Town)
be planned as such instead of the slums which are developing around these
very important towns.
