BARR IN 'FULL-SCALE WAR' WITH INTEL AGENCIES OVER RUSSIA PROBE

'We are headed for a gigantic, gigantic fight'

Attorney General William Barr is engaged in a “full scale war” against FBI
officials and intelligence agencies who refuse to hand over information
about their investigation of Donald Trump during the Obama administration,
said former U.S. attorney Joe diGenova.

interview Monday with the “Mornings on the Mall” radio show on WMAL in
Washington, D.C., he explained that when Trump appointed Barr, the president
said, “See if you can get to the bottom of what happened during the
campaign.”

Barr, who says he now has more questions than answers, has faced resistance
from FBI Director Christopher Wray and CIA Director Gina Haspel, diGenova
said.

He described Wray as an “unmitigated disaster” and “another FBI director who
thinks he’s James Comey.”

“You are watching the quintessential Washington power battle,” diGenova
said.

While the FBI and the CIA can leak to the Washington Post and the New York
Times, he noted, they do not have the subpoena power of the attorney
general.

“We are headed for a gigantic, gigantic fight,” said diGenova.

“The intelligence community, including the FBI is in full resistance in
disclosing what they did during the Presidential campaign,” he said.

“Christopher Wray is now standing in the way of history. Make no mistake
about it, Christopher Wray has become an enemy of the people!”

‘Cover-up’

In the interview,

cal_spying_since_2012.html> diGenova said he believes the Russia-collusion
investigation, which found no evidence of collusion, was a cover-up for
political spying by the Obama administration since 2012.

He explained that then-National Security Adviser Admiral Mike Rogers
discovered in the Spring of 2016 that the NSA’s comprehensive database
collecting all electronic communications in the United States was being
searched by unauthorized FBI “contractors.”

Rogers moved to cut off that access and also visited Donald Trump during his
campaign, after which Trump move his campaign headquarters from Trump Tower.

DiGenova concludes that the launch of the probe of Trump, Crossfire
Hurricane, and the FBI’s effort to obtain FISA warrants were not primarily
to initiate spying on the Trump campaign.

Instead, the intent was to provide legal grounding for the spying on
political opponents that had taken place since 2012, he said.

DiGenova also said he believes the NSA database contains the 30,000 emails
that Hillary Clinton deleted from her server.

He said the U.S. attorney appointed to review the FBI’s investigation of
Clinton’s mishandling of classified information, John Huber, will have
access to those emails.
