name of Eclipse plugins for UIMA tools ending in "incubating" - is this a good idea?

The Eclipse plugins are in directories with names like:
org.apache.uima.runtime.2.1.0.incubating

I would prefer it just be 2.1.0 - or
2.1.0.v20070213   (this latter seems to be a current Eclipse convention -
the build date I guess).

What do others think?
