Hi, At UKNOF17, there was mention of Benedicte Force-Titley's documentation of UK Internet history, an ongoing theme at UKNOF. It reminded me to mention that I have back issues of the major UK Internet magazines going back to the start. In recent years, it is ".net" only, but I have most issues of the deceased "Internet & Comms Today", plus various other ones that started up circa 1995 and didn't get beyond a few issues. They're taking up about 9 feet of shelving in my garage that I could do with reclaiming, so I am open to suggestions on what to do with them all. Benedicte's welcome to have first pick if she thinks they are of use, otherwise ...
Speaking of clearing out; several staff are retiring from IT Services at Strathclyde this month so there's a lot of clearing out going on here; my interest in "historically interesting material" is known. So as I arrive back at my office this morning, I find in my pigeon hole a copy of the papers for the the UKUUG IP Workshop, held at the Zoological Society, 11-13th October 1994. Of particular interest to this group might be the Acknowledgements and an article on gated by Jim Reid (back in his Strathclyde CS guise), and contributions from Keith Mitchell (using ISDN to access the Internet), and Nigel Titley on the BT Internet service architecture. And thanks to everyone who contributed to UKNOF17 yesterday; first time I've managed to be able to attend one, hopefully not the last. Jethro. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
