In term of product placement FTTH is better than DSL but not as good as a L/Line, the price and features should reflect this. > I also suspect that the methods of determining customer flows are so > significant in terms of hardware requirements [...] No it is way cheaper to install DPI that it is to over-provision your link and network, the big saving is on the cost of provisioning the edge and/or when your network grows to the point where current 10GB technology is not enough anymore. That said, DSL prices are very near cost and the margin near non-existant on the home market, you get what you pay for ... Thomas
