A bit of a long shot, but...
We have a 40KVA APC Symmetra here at our office which hasn't been
working properly for a while, and it has finally decided that enough is
enough and it doesn't want to work at all. A UPS that drops the load as
soon as the mains power fails is of limited use to anyone.
We don't have a service contract on it or anything like that.
Can anyone recommend someone to come out and take a look before we
consign it to the scrapheap? We've found a couple of places that are
full APC dealers but got the distinct impression that they would have a
look, charge for a callout and then declare it a write off and simply
try and sell us a new one (and their repair callout charges are around
£900 as well). I don't mind if it really is dead but would rather have
an honest opinion from someone rather than just being seen as a sales
opportunity.
We're based in Sussex, near Gatwick - so I'm guessing someone based in
London or the home counties would be ideal.
