I didn’t mention Peru, but pick any of 20 other European countries to compare
with the UK, where Google’s penetration stats are higher than here. While there
are obviously different circumstances in different countries, there are 20
countries in Europe progressing with visible residential rollout faster than
the UK.

I agree, and that’s not what the UK Council will do. Rather, the aim is to make
it more like - for example - the Swiss and Belgian Councils, which are more
about sharing experiences from those planning and doing, in countries where
residential and commercial offerings are appearing. It’s good to see BT
participating in it.

Is that another dig at Comcast? ;)

There are certainly still emerging issues such as the recent ones seen with
IPv6 and gmail.

But seriously I think sharing bad experience/lessons is as important as sharing
good ones, if companies (whether access or content providers) are prepared to
be open with such info.
