To be more helpful (and prevent rants and irrelevance) can you provide a bit more info - what are you really trying to do? In some cases, anyone who has done a conference-style event for a few hundred people may be able to provide great info and tips. In other cases, you may need a team of consultants for a few months.
eg: One off event or permanent site? Describe the site a bit if you can - size, construction, where the users will be, for how long, stationary or moving? What do they want, what do they expect? Types of traffic expected/allowed? Failover and business criticality issues? - Some will be permanent sites, but these permanent sites will hosts events throughout the year. Some of these events will attract up to 30,000 visitors a day in a small confined area (like a horse racing fixture, grandstand, winners enclosures, grass lawns, bars). People moving around but sometimes when racing on lots of stationary people. No need for huge amounts of bandwidth, just 1 or 2 Mb per client would be fine. No failover required, just blanket wireless coverage. Also, why so few APs? Are they taxed or rare or something we don't know ? (*) - No need to have minimal number of AP's could have as many AP's as needed but density of people is very high (* reason for asking so bluntly is the physics tend to suggest running lots of APs with limited range each may be better than one or two APs for everything. Otherwise, there would only be one global AP for the entire planet and it would be fine for everyone, everywhere, all the time, no matter what. The concept really *is* that simple most of the time, though there are sometimes exceptions in very special cases) - appreciate you asking the question, as I should have probably provided a but more info to start with.
