There is an art to it! You can’t even glance at the Iris scanner until both doors are fully shut. If it takes it too early it verbally announces acceptance of the ‘token’ but it won’t proceed to open the man-trap doors.
‘Please stand on the grey square until both doors are closed’ is a phrase that features in my sub-conscious far too frequently. I’m sure I’ve quietly said it to myself in the shower before.
