A good tip is to ensure that you have the latest VDSL firmware from cisco.com on your device. Also maybe enable the ADSL/VDSL controller training log, and as much debugging as you can, so you can see why it's dropping and when. conf t controller VDSL 0 training log filename flash:vdsl.log end debug ppp * Also look under the "show controller x" commands.
