But the copying of selected text is a useful feature. How can the user
know about it unless there is something in the help somewhere, and as
far as I know, there is nothing anywhere. I discovered the feature
quite by accident, and only after years of use of Find and Find &
Replace.

The user will readily see that if there is no selected text that
nothing will be copied. No problem, IMO.
