I think you need to rethink what the help strings are for. Or I do. Aren't they there to help people who need it? I agree that Find and Replace is a common feature, but as I said before, I didn't know that selected text would be copied to it until I discovered this by accident. Why not write the help strings for people like me? Users who don't need help string don't have to read them. They don't get in the way of a user's use of Ulipad at all, do they? > and just as I said, if there is no > selected text exists, how to say it. And just as I implied, you don't need to say it. This will be obvious to the user who has read in the help string that if there is selected text, it will be copied to the pane -- if there is no selected text, of course none will be copied. Dick
