1. Yes, Konqueror and Nautilus support it quite nicely.
2. Pretty flexible in terms of permissions and security, although
"flexible" is kind of a broad thing to talk about.
3. Yes - since it's all powered by web server, any clustered, location
transparent thing you could do with Apache, you can do with WebDAV.
