I have FIOS. Had it for 2 months now. If you're a heavy downloader of ISOs or Bittorrents and you can swing the $50/month price, I highly recommend it. I did have Verizon DSL and never had any problems. I only had to deal with tech support once and they seemed fine; they resolved the issue on the first call.
My FIOS speed is 15 Mb down and 2Mb up. I run a small webserver on a non-standard port and use No-IP.com for my DNS. No problems or issues (other then my inability to create a cool website!).
