I use ext2fsd: http://ext2fsd.sourceforge.net/

it is rw for ext2 but ro for ext3 becuase it cant handle the journal.
I started using it after my 100gb shared media partion got hosed on
fat32. So far it has worked quite well with the exception of longish
(1-2min) boots if the partition wasnt cleanly unmounted. The only
thing that concerns me is that there is no fsck like tool for ext2 in
windows.
