Hey everyone! Today is an exciting day for Ubuntu fans; version 7.04 - the
"Feisty Fawn" - was released today! The US mirrors are currently swamped,
but I'm getting a good download rate from TUDelft in the Netherlands. Check
it out at www.ubuntu.com

Another bit of Linux news I wanted to make sure everybody had heard about is
the 'Tux 500' campaign. The guys at lobby4linux.com are trying to get Linux
users to raise enough money to sponsor a car in the Indy 500 coming up this
summer. They are hoping to raise awareness about Linux with the public.
Right now the biggest obstacle to the growth of Linux is that the average
computer user does not know about it - and with no hefty licensing fees,
Linux distros's can't exactly advertise. If you'd like to read more about
it, check them out at www.tux500.com <http://www.tux500.com/> . The neat
thing is this is not targeted at any particular distro - it's Linux as a
whole. I really hope they raise enough money to do this. Please pass the
word along to any of your linux buddies out there.
